"Ensueno de mi vida, mi ardiente vivo anhelo, Salud! te grita el alma, que pronto va a partir; Salud! ah, que es hermoso caer por darte vuelo, Morir por darte vida, morir bajo tu cielo, Y en tu encantada tierra la eternidad dormir!"
"My life's fancy, my ardent, passionate desire, Hail! Cries out the soul to you, that will soon part from thee; Hail! How sweet 'tis to fall that fullness you may acquire; To die to give you life, 'neath your skies to expire, And in your mystic land to sleep through eternity !"
~Mi último adiós / José Rizal
--------- i'd put in the Filipino translation to but it's confusing, in wiki the original Spanish and translated English has 14 stanzas but the filo version has 28 and i can't find exactly which of them was the translated version of the ones above.
yea so moving on, way to bastardize your own national costume lexei, now they'll never let you in again. the spanish must have hated us so, else why would they make us wear such stuffy, beautiful, but deathly stuffy volumes of unnecessary fabric in such humid, tropical weather? haha.
speaking of... the colours i used here, they're stuffy too. they make me think of crumbling parchment and dust, no really, i tried to render them in pastel but it didn't seem right. now it just looks heavy and suffocating.
but seriously, what ever happened to Maria Clara? i moved before we could cover Noli and El Fili in school so i've not read it yet.
Hm... I am currently reading El Fili but I think she turned into a nun... //*gets shot*// Question how many hours did you make this and what did u use cuz' I ish aspiring fashion designer :3
